Feminist Liberation Theology

Women in rural Brazil are among those most affected by exploitation and oppression. To change their situation, female agricultural workers began to organize and engage in political protest in the 1980s. Based on this context, which is vividly illustrated through personal testimonies, Sandra Lassak addresses the question of what significance the resistance of women holds for a feminist liberation theology. She highlights the cross-contextual relevance of social movements in Brazil and their prophetic impulses by examining current challenges for theology and the church in Europe.
