Product details

Born in Winterthur in 1908, Max Bill became a student at the Bauhaus in 1926 and began a career in the 1930s that led him to become a homo universalis in line with his education. Not only as a painter and sculptor, but also as an architect and exhibition designer, as a poster graphic designer, book designer and author, as a teacher, typographer, and designer of furniture and industrial products, Bill always engaged with his time, changed the course of events, and left traces of international significance. For his 100th birthday, the Gewerbemuseum Winterthur held an exhibition about the designer Bill. This exhibition will now also be shown in Dessau, enriched with exhibits from his time in Dessau. The present book is the second volume of a series edited by Jakob Bill, following "Function and Functionalism." In addition to an introduction by Jakob Bill, it unfolds over 80.
