Product details
The book proposes to categorize media and media theories into three main categories: 1) The imperative-archic media. This refers to a "military device" (Kittler) obscured by the historical stage, which today serves a new imperative. 2) The counter-imperative media. This denotes the actual media resistance against global and national media machines. 3) The anarchic media. They describe the current state of media, as they only become truly current where they have outlived their archic character to live anarchically (without domination), which remains unexperienced in the imperative media machines.
