It is one of the most remarkable stories of recent times: A boy born into a desperately poor family in southern Rwanda tended goats and helped with fieldwork as soon as he could walk. Having never attended school, he could neither read nor write. His parents were pagans and had never heard of God. In the summer of 1982, Jesus appeared to him for the first time. Jesus asked the 15-year-old Segatashya if he would be willing to take on a mission. Segatashya was to leave his parents and proclaim the faith in Rwanda and the surrounding countries, reminding people of eternal life. The boy agreed. Jesus appeared to him often and prepared him for this mission. He answered many of the questions the boy asked him, questions that have always troubled humanity. Thousands of people listened to Segatashya's public speeches and converted.
