Fritz Gerlich was originally convinced that Therese Neumann was a hoax. To this end, he visited her in Konnersreuth for the first time in 1927. These visits continued over the following years. He was present during her visions, was able to see the bleeding stigmata himself, and confirmed that Therese lived without any food for many years (a total of 36 years). Fritz Gerlich wrote down Therese's life story in this first volume, which also includes her visions. As the material for his writings grew, he published a second volume about Therese Neumann: The Credibility of Therese Neumann.
