In Richard Gutzwiller's meditations, the image of the shepherd comes to mind: Alarmed by the scattering of the flock, he did everything to lead them into the fold that promises protection. His gift of speech, his extensive knowledge in theology, of the human soul, and of the matters of the world: he dedicated all of this to the proclamation. He became increasingly aware that every renewal in Christianity must begin where it itself started, with the Word of God that is handed down to us in the Holy Scriptures.
