Compared to conventionally cooled processes, workpieces heat up significantly more during dry machining, resulting in thermo-elastic deformations. Consequently, unacceptable shape and dimensional deviations occur in the manufactured workpieces. This work contributes to the modeling, simulation, and analysis of thermo-elastic workpiece deformations using the example of dry turning, in order to reduce and compensate for these issues in advance.
