The fear of Islamist terror is increasing, even in Germany. But what happens when the terror grows within one's own family? When one notices their own son radicalizing? This nightmare became a reality for Neriman Yaman. At the age of fourteen, her son Yusuf discovered Islam for himself. However, it was not the liberal Islam that his parents practiced. Yusuf was seduced, attended events by Pierre Vogel, and increasingly sympathized with ISIS. His mother did everything she could to detach him from his new friends and desperately sought help from various sources: over 30 mosques, the youth welfare office, the school authority, and state counseling centers. In vain. No one could or wanted to help her. No one took the danger seriously. And then it happened. At just sixteen years old, Yusuf was already so obsessed with Islamist ideas.
