Hegel's Science of Logic (1812/1816) is considered one of the most influential philosophical writings of modern times. However, two hundred years after its publication, only partial interpretative approaches exist, which contradict each other on essential points. With his comprehensive dialogical commentary, the first volume of which on the Logic of Being is now available, Pirmin Stekeler attempts to remedy this situation. His pursuit of Hegel's line of thought, which reconstructs it closely to the text and presents it radically as a contemporary discourse, makes it clear that the ambiguities in pre- and post-Kantian empiricism have led to the contradictions in interpretation and in the scientistic worldviews of modernity. Stekeler's new reading of Hegel's Logic paves the way for a renewal of philosophical logic as a whole.
