With the ideas of a pure phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy from 1913, which he himself presented only as a general introduction to pure phenomenology, Edmund Husserl drew the consequence from his logical investigations that had made him famous in 1900/01: Starting from the phenomenology of intentional experiences developed there, he now sees the uncovering of the achievements of pure consciousness, to which the natural world as we know it is given only as a correlate of consciousness, as the true object of philosophical knowledge. He introduced methodological concepts such as reduction and epoché as the means to gain clarity about the nature of this pure consciousness, from which all knowledge arises.
