In his final work, Husserl attempts to establish the necessity of a transcendental-phenomenological turn in philosophy through a teleological-historical reflection on the origins of our critical scientific and philosophical situation. He starts from his concept of the "lifeworld" and develops an independent introduction to transcendental phenomenology based on this central concept of his later philosophy.
