Since King Melchior saw the little child in Bethlehem, he has been giving away his riches to the poor. His subjects begin to grumble - soon there will be nothing left for them! So they decide to leave the king behind in the desert. When the king wakes up, he finds himself alone in the wilderness. For him, a difficult journey begins, ultimately leading him back to his homeland. There, his son has taken over the rule. When he recognizes his father, he starts to understand the significance of his father's encounter with that special child.
