People with dementia have a special need for care and environment. Admission to a general hospital often has negative effects on these individuals. The change in spatial surroundings, caregivers, and daily routines often leads to unusual behaviors in those affected. General hospitals are process-oriented institutions, and this tension often results in a deterioration of overall condition and cognition. This book presents projects from German clinics aimed at improving the care of people with dementia.
