Bruno faces an unusual challenge: he is supposed to teach holiday guests local specialties at Pamela's cooking school. The knives are sharpened, the fresh ingredients are ready, but the most prominent participant is missing: the young wife of a British intelligence officer, who wanted to recuperate in the Périgord on the recommendation of her stepfamily. Bruno tracks her down – in a supposed love nest that soon becomes the scene of a double murder.
