Speculation is a "series within a series" that engages with the intellectual and theoretical currents that have been attempting, in very heterogeneous ways, to explore new modes of philosophical thinking for several years now. A common point of approach for the not necessarily compatible speculative positions is the problematization of a (post)modern condition that has been exhausted since the end of the 20th century. The hallmark of these lines of thought is their positive relationship with ontology and a renewed affirmation of metaphysics. The book series introduces the new speculative thinking to a German-speaking audience through first publications, essay collections, and translations of key texts by authors who have primarily been received in the Anglo-American and French-speaking worlds. Ultimately, it is also about redefining the concept of speculation.
