Product details

Alexander Kosolapov, born in 1943 in Moscow, studied at the Moscow School of Industrial Art (Stroganov School of Art). He is one of the representatives of the Soz Art movement. In 1975, he emigrated to the USA. In 1982, he was involved in a legal dispute with Coca-Cola. In 2003, Orthodox extremists destroyed his work "This is my blood" at the exhibition "Caution, Religion!". The work "Caviar Icon" was removed in 2005 during an ongoing group exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery following complaints from religious representatives and remains banned in Russia to this day. Kosolapov lives and works in New York.
