Product details

In literature, a distinction is often made between travel metaphors and a physical environment, without placing both in an immediate context. This differentiation does not seem necessarily logical. Both semantic fields can be encompassed under a common term. At this point, the distinction is lifted, and movement metaphors are understood as spatial metaphors. Charteris-Black implicitly supports this decision when he notes that social conditions are often described with reference to landscape attributes. Movement metaphors are understood as objectives of political actions, such as achieving a goal. Conceptualizing motives as travelers with desired destinations draws significantly from physical-lexical fields. Movement metaphors are often positive in nature.
