This work focuses on the lived reality of female consumers of methamphetamine (MA). When it comes to substance use among women, it is not only the effects on their own health, physical condition, social situation, and interpersonal relationships that are important. There are also far-reaching consequences for the health, growth, and development of their children. The specific aspects related to women regarding the substance, addiction, or consumption behavior are examined. Information is provided about health risk factors and effects, social consequences for women and pregnant individuals, as well as current findings on the consequences for children and their development when mothers and/or caregivers consume MA.
