The book introduces the methods of social work. Methods in social work are not technical procedures or recipes that can be applied according to a manual; they are subject to ethical standards, changing social and political conditions, and demands, as well as ongoing discursive development. Their application does not occur in a vacuum: The aspects that form the external framework for the use of methods are reflected upon in the book. In this context, the methods are presented based on the classical triad: work with individuals, couples, and families, work with groups, and work in social spaces. Individual intervention levels are examined in detail, with commonly practiced methodological approaches illustrated as examples, as well as recent developments in the discussion of methods.
