The textbook aims to introduce readers to methods of risk modeling and risk management. This focus arises from the increasing importance of risk management for organizations and companies across all sectors and industries. According to the DIN EN ISO 9001 standard from 2015, companies seeking certification under this standard are required to apply risk management methods. Special emphasis is placed on conveying practical methods, with references to the use of software tools such as R, Minitab, or JMP. In addition to teaching application-oriented methods, the book's second main goal is to transfer methods that have predominantly been used in the financial sector to the technical or engineering fields. Risk metrics such as Value-at-Risk or Tail Value are also discussed.
