Prisoners of war from Stalag II A Fünfeichen near Neubrandenburg maintained contact with the women, relayed their information, and supported them with food, literature, or medicine. Some of the letters to the prisoners of war from 1943 were later found near Neubrandenburg; they were buried alongside lists of names of executed Polish women and victims of medical experiments, poems, a drawing, and a carved miniature in a waterproof medicine jar. In 1980, the documents were published in Poland, and this volume makes them accessible to the German-speaking public.
