This always costs me a lot of nerves and effort. But I consider it my duty. Because the survivors are becoming fewer, and we need testimonies and traditions for other people, other generations. In the future, no eyewitnesses will be able to personally recount the Nazi persecution and forced labor. Historical research and cultural memory, oral history, and education increasingly rely on audio and video interviews. Memory is becoming more and more a part of the digital worlds. What does this mean for the handling of eyewitness interviews and particularly for the remembrance of Nazi forced labor? Using the example of the online archive "Forced Labor 1939-1945" and other current projects, this volume discusses the potentials, challenges, and quality standards in the establishment of digital interview archives - from conducting interviews to educational work, from online technology to biographical analysis.
