Product details

The women's concentration camp Ravensbrück was dependent on the services of the German Reichsbahn. Using ordinary passenger cars, barred cell cars, and freight cars, the SS transported more than 123,000 prisoners from all over Europe to the camp located north of Berlin. Since 1939, they had to disembark in full view at the Fürstenberg (Havel) train station. Three years later, Ravensbrück received its own train stop. Countless wagons carrying plundered goods and raw materials for forced labor also arrived by rail. The catalog reflects the content of the exhibition "Trains to Ravensbrück" in the open area of the Ravensbrück Memorial and Memorial Site. A historical freight car there serves as a reminder of a forgotten topic in the camp's history.
