The idyll of the Southern Palatinate comes to an end for Benedikt Eichenlaub the moment he is found dead in a parking garage in Landau. Paula Stern, who recently moved from Franconia, and Bernd Keeser, the quintessential Palatine, take on the investigation, but it proves to be anything but straightforward. Keeser finds himself in deadly danger – and Paula has to deal not only with a friend who has been arrested but also with an unexpected visit from her mother. The only way to cope is with hearty Palatine food.
