With Auguste Rodin in Paris - 1905
German, 2007Product details
Georg Simmel (1858-1918), famous for his 'Philosophy of Money' (1900), is one of the founding fathers of modern sociology. He was also interested in art: Auguste Rodin was the most significant artist of his time for him. In the obituary he dedicated to the Frenchman shortly after his death in a Berlin newspaper, he describes in an inimitably captivating way the impression that a visit to the sculptor's studio in 1905 made on him. This completely forgotten obituary is presented here for the first time - with an afterword and some photos - as an independent small publication.
