The Poopol Wuuj, the sacred book of the K'ichee' Maya of Guatemala, is one of the greatest writings in human history. It stands alongside the Vedas, the I Ching, the Quran, the Bible, and the Tantras. For the first time, the only true "book" of pre-Hispanic America is presented in exact juxtaposition, sentence by sentence, of the Maya text and the German text. Additionally, the original text is presented in modern Maya orthography for the first time.
