Björn Akstinat is the photographer of Berlin street fashion. He doesn’t photograph brands or models, but real Berliners in their everyday clothing. It all started with an idea in a street café in Spain. Akstinat saw stylishly dressed women passing by him. Aside from him, hardly anyone noticed how much effort they had put into their appearance. He then decided to pay more attention to interestingly dressed people and to capture these walking short-term artworks photographically - not in Spain, but in his hometown of Berlin. Back in the German capital, he launched the website schickaa.com, where he has been publishing his stylish fashion snapshots for several years. The name "schickaa" is, on one hand, a play on the German words "schick" and "schicker.".
