Product details

Max Beckmann's "Self-Portrait with Glass Ball," Fernand Léger's "The Dancer," and Pablo Picasso's "Woman in an Armchair" are just three examples of the magnificent artworks from the collection of the Hilti Art Foundation, which currently includes around 250 paintings, sculptures, objects, and photographs from the classical modern period to the present day. This generously designed book features 80 mostly full-page illustrations of all the artworks that were on display at the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein from December 2016 to October 2017. Far more than just an exhibition catalog, it conveys to the reader the diversity of art from the late 19th century to the present; works from an artistic era whose aesthetic and thematic questions are constantly being re-examined against the backdrop of a radically changing understanding of the world and reality. The facets of this era and its history of creation are explored.
