How do older people with migration experience describe their personality? Mathias Fuchs presents individual voices to exemplify the diversity of personality concepts among seniors who have immigrated to Germany throughout their lives. In three case studies, he allows people to tell their own stories without reducing them to the themes of age and migration from the outset. Instead, the interviewees are given the freedom to choose the narrative contexts for describing their personality. This approach creates a nuanced picture of this group of people, which is by no means homogeneous and encompasses a wide range of personal identities.
