The anthology highlights the historical role of migrant women as independent actors in the history of German business in the 20th century. It promotes dialogues between social historical and business historical research to explore methodological intersections and identify new areas of study. The contributions suggest ways in which such a dialogue across disciplinary boundaries can contribute to a re-evaluation of the research field. To broaden the historical contexts of entrepreneurial action and not reduce migrant actors to classic large companies, the contributions are predominantly situated outside of industrial relations and large-scale corporate contexts.
