The workbook provides students from grade 4 with a concept that helps them avoid most sources of error. Spelling strategies are practiced consistently. Behind the Buschmann method and the subsequently developed FRESCH method lies a strategy-driven support concept that can be easily implemented by both teachers and parents. Initially, rhythmic speaking is emphasized. In the next step, strategies such as syllable writing, extending, derivations, and memory word training are practiced based on individual spelling problems. The spelling exercises begin with phonetically accurate words. Depending on the exercise unit, applications for extending and deriving are included. As grade 4 students increasingly encounter less phonetically accurate words, memory word training follows. At the end of each unit, the learned strategies are applied in a motivating context.
