Sudoku is the well-known puzzle fun with numbers. In syllable Sudoku, the fields are filled with syllables instead of numbers. The intensive engagement with the different syllables provides good training for fluent reading and spelling. Using the familiar Sudoku rules, children must repeatedly read the starting phrase (e.g., "Ri ta ra te"), quietly pronounce it, and write it multiple times in the boxes.
