The workbook "Welcome to Germany - Learning to Read and Write" is an introduction for children with German as a second language who are not yet able to read and write. The workbook introduces print letters and numbers based on the thematic areas for vocabulary in German as a second language in elementary school. It is thematically and content-wise aligned with the workbook "Welcome to Germany" I. It is suitable as a preparatory course for weaker students as well as an alphabetization course for children without reading and writing skills, and for boys and girls with reading/writing experience in other writing systems. The workbook introduces a reduced vocabulary holistically but structured through syllable dividers, teaching the pronunciation and writing of Latin letters based on the learned words. The simple and clear structure facilitates learning.
