For about 100 years, modern life has significantly changed in terms of nutrition. In particular, industrial agriculture has caused mineral losses in Germany and around the world, affecting magnesium, potassium, sulfur, zinc, lithium, iodine, boron, selenium, silicon, and likely other trace elements. The consequences of this and other causes are the rising rates of chronic diseases and cancer. Fortunately, thanks to modern information media and analytical methods, we are much better informed than we were 50 or 100 years ago. This allows us to better recognize deficiencies and counteract them with sea or rock salts, as well as dietary supplements, thereby optimizing our health responsibly.
