Parisian Commissioner Jean-Luc Papperin had planned to enjoy his special leave at his family's olive mill in Provence and recover from a gunshot wound. Instead of the peace he hoped for, he finds himself amidst a rivaling group of heated tempers. The idyllic Provençal village of Cabanosque is in turmoil because a globally operating real estate mogul wants to build a golf and wellness resort for the international jet set there. The mayor's supporters and many businesspeople are facing a broad protest movement from local residents who want to thwart the project by any means necessary. The tension escalates until it finally erupts: two treacherous murders occur.
