In nursing, social work, or education, professionals are confronted with intense emotions of others, such as fear, helplessness, or anger, and experience them empathetically. This book describes the burdens of unreflected empathy and presents ways to reflect on empathy and act in a balanced empathetic manner. The training program consists of exercises for seminars, training sessions, or practice groups. Among other things, the concept of nonviolent communication is implemented and practiced. The goal is to recognize emotional overloads in one's own actions and to develop alternative strategies.
