Product details

Friedrich Danielis accompanied his artistic work with writing. This resulted in short notes for numerous exhibitions that articulated the backgrounds and occasions in words. Additionally, Friedrich Danielis authored an extensive body of prose that reflects his vast reading experience. The literary strength and aesthetic competence of authors like Jean Paul and John Milton served as benchmarks for him.

His works, committed to beauty, demonstrate that even in a time when apocalyptic fantasies are conjured, there is still a new beginning upon which to build.

Born in 1944 in Bad Reichenhall, Friedrich Danielis was a self-taught painter and writer. He attended school in Salzburg and later lived and worked in Vienna, London, New York, and Venice. After his first exhibition in 1961 in Les Baux-de-Provence, he had exhibitions and painting commissions around the world. His works are exhibited internationally and are part of public and private collections as well as museums. He was a member of the Vienna Secession (since 1970) and the Austrian PEN (since 2013).

Friedrich Danielis conceived and designed twenty artist books. His texts, including books and essays, relevant specialist literature, and numerous literary contributions, have been published in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Great Britain, and the USA. He also created three librettos (two operas and an oratorio) for the composers Rainer Bischof and Wolfgang Florey.
