Sebastian Herden presents the concept of Model-Driven Configuration Management (MDCM) to bridge the identified semantic gap between enterprise architecture and IT configuration. The fundamental idea of the proposed MDCM concept for seamless integration of enterprise architecture management and IT configuration management in IT operations is to develop a model-driven engineering approach. The goal of MDCM is, in addition to aligning the resulting IT configuration with a company's business processes and ensuring a traceable and transparent design, to achieve independence of quality from individual knowledge.
