Especially in the development of embedded systems, collaboration in cross-domain teams, as well as the desire for certifiability and reusability of development results, hold significant importance. In this context, modeling the various perspectives of the future system plays a crucial role. Since the comprehensive revision of UML in UML 2 and the specification of SysML, object-oriented analysis and design of embedded systems using the graphical modeling languages of the Object Management Group (OMG) has become very feasible. Unfortunately, both modeling languages only define the linguistic and graphical notation but provide little guidance on how to use them according to a development process. This book aims to introduce the reader to the different diagrams of UML and SysML as useful perspectives through practical examples.
