Mobility holds a very high value in our society. It expands our range of action, encourages active engagement with the environment, opens up choices, such as in leisure activities, and facilitates the establishment and maintenance of social contacts. Particularly in the context of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, mobility plays a crucial key role. The goal is the equal participation of all people in all areas of social life. However, for people with disabilities, mobility is often associated with insurmountable problems due to various barriers of different kinds and forms. The reasons for this can partly be found in the often non-accessible design of the transportation world, and partly in the insufficient promotion of mobility. This book presents both theoretical and practical approaches.
