The existential relationship of humans to space, time, and movement drives the artist Anja Ganster in her painting, videos, and installation works. Under the title "Tidal Friction (Constellation 6)" and within her exhibition at the Museum Franz Gertsch, small and medium-sized paintings, works on paper, and a massive wall-filling piece intertwine with sculptural installations to form a rhythmically circulating whole. Drawing from foreign image archives and cultures of memory, from encounters in travel and work locations, and through the depiction of people, human actions, or objects of human activity, a rhizomatically sprawling, expandable, and ever-reconfigurable reference system emerges.
