One of the tasks that teachers often have to engage with intensively in their profession is the assessment of students' performances. This work aims to present ways to improve performance evaluation in schools. First, it is important to clarify what the intended goal is: What functions should performance evaluations actually fulfill? Because only when one knows exactly where they want to go is it possible to search for ways that lead in that direction. Once the goal is clear, it is essential to identify the obstacles that lie between the current state and the desired state: What problems hinder the fulfillment of the functions of performance evaluation? The final step involves searching for means and ways to eliminate the obstacles that prevent the achievement of the goal.
