Until recently, he was a successful corruption investigator in Paris, but he stepped on the toes of powerful people. Soon, he finds himself alone in his new home in Provence, a dilapidated olive mill that an uncle left him years ago. But before Blanc can get his bearings in the small town of Gadet, he is assigned a murder case. Unexpectedly, the Captain gets caught up in an intrigue that leads him deeper into the structures of his new home than he would like.
