This unique book series fills a gap in the literature for reading aloud. Selected memories from eyewitnesses lead the thoughts of older, care-dependent individuals back to their own childhood and youth. The task of awakening and nurturing memories can thus be easily initiated. In the reading books for elderly care, reminiscences from roughly contemporaneous eyewitnesses are utilized. "I experienced that too" or "That could be me" are therefore common reactions from the listeners. This can lead to meaningful conversations among the care-dependent individuals and with their caregivers and families.
