Mama picks up Sammy from kindergarten. As they head to Grandma and Grandpa's house, Sammy excitedly shares that all the kids will be dressing up the next day. Sammy wants to make a dragon costume with Mama. Mama knows a lot about dragons because she has a big, fiery rage dragon inside her, just waiting to roar and destroy everything. Sammy has experienced this firsthand and wonders if making a dragon costume is really such a good idea.

This picture book sensitively and honestly tells the story of living with a parent who has borderline personality disorder, highlighting different aspects: Mama is more than just her storm, more than the dragon, more than her fear. She is smart, loving, and can tell great jokes.

The author, Michelle Müller-Nagy, lives with a borderline disorder herself and developed and wrote Sammy's story together with her son.
