Construction contractor Sauter actually wanted to hunt in his own territory. But then he is found dead, naked and frozen in the wintery Mayen backwoods, seemingly killed by wild boars. However, Chief Inspector Jan Wärmland quickly realizes that this can only be a murder committed in an inexplicable manner. When a hunting friend of Sauter's is also found pierced by arrows, the press refers to the perpetrator as the "Indian." It seems he is targeting a circle of friends connected through hunting. But Wärmland cannot determine a motive. Until he realizes who the next victim will be.
