Product details
In 1989, the SL of the R 129 series replaced its predecessor, the R 107, which had been in production for nearly 20 years. As expected, the Swabians continued their decades-long tradition with the new model. Open and two-seater, the SL had always been the roadster for the highest demands, simply a dream car that set standards in safety, comfort, and technology. Michael Allner, responsible for product press for the SL at Daimler-Benz, tells the story of the R 129 from its beginnings to its last production year in 2001, complemented by many contemporary photos, brochures, and posters.
