The VW Kübelwagen Type 82 was the most produced vehicle of its kind in Germany from 1940 to 1945. Developed by Ferdinand Porsche from the civilian KdF car starting in 1938, the Type 82 became a workhorse on all fronts during World War II. What distinguished the VW Kübelwagen was its off-road capability, relatively low development costs, and its reliable operability even under difficult climatic conditions.
