Mountain biking is no longer a standard offering in the low mountain range destinations. These destinations have recognized the future market and see an opportunity to counteract the outdated image of the low mountain ranges. Trail networks have been expanded, and appropriate signage systems and infrastructure facilities have been created. But are such basic services sufficient to stand out against comparable destinations? Against this backdrop, Joana Heinemann examines package deals as a way to differentiate from competitors and present added value to customers. It becomes clear that tourism organizations have only partially utilized this marketing tool and that the potential for differentiation through target group-specific packages has not yet been fully exploited. Heinemann's study highlights the role of this approach.
