The victims of the Holocaust in South Tyrol were observed and expelled by fascists, largely persecuted and deported by local National Socialists. After 1945, survivors were denied compensation for their material losses. The memory of the victims was suppressed. "Murderous Homeland" documents the diverse expressions of the deeply rooted anti-Semitism in South Tyrol. The NS victims of South Tyrol loved their homeland and made significant contributions to medicine, economy, and tourism. Highlighting the traces of Jewish life in the history of South Tyrol allows for a belated recognition of their legacy.
